Greetings from Bangalore and free downloads

Dear Friends of Lehera,
Firstly, my apologies for the long delay in replying after some of you were appreciative enough to sign up on our website’s email list, and also thanks to those of you who have supported us by buying cds and mp3s from cdbaby, Amazon, itunes, emusic, rhapsody etc.
Click here for free downloads from Lehera’s IMA Vox Populi and JPF 2009 award winning Cd Heartsky. You have to click the ‘become a fan’ button to access the free downloads if you like what you hear.
You can also hear our EP with the very adventurous Swiss vocalist, Sarah Buechi here
Within the next month I have left of my visit to India, Lehera will be recording with the Karnataka College of Percussion – T.A.S. Mani and vocalist Ramamani with a view to touring the US and Canada. We will go into the studio after they return from the Turkish drum festival in Istanbul. BTW in March they will be performing and recording with the London Philharmonic in the Uk and India.
The recording of Lehera with KCP promises to be a fresh approach to cross-cultural worldmusic …somewhat different than what we have all presented before.
In trying to do everything myself and despite or rather due to a lack of funds, I have to admit I have not been able to keep up…what with… composing, recording, promoting, managing and booking my bands …let alone practising!– and so this is my first newsletter yet!
Without fan support we will not be able to keep performing and recording and we have so much more to offer you. I have always been and will keep on bringing you new and interesting music while trying to avoid what’s already been done …well…something least derivative so to speak. Both my albums, Tandava (self titled album by my Vancouver based cross cultural group, Tandava) and Lehera’s Heartsky, have garnered some recognition by receiving nominations and awards in Canadian and international “folk” and Independent music awards in the world “fusion” category. This is very encouraging and helpful in keeping us going in spite of dwindling funds.
The culmination of all these creative projects is the pleasure and satisfaction of people like you, our appreciative listeners. So, without your support, I am hard-pressed to do justice to these exciting musical projects.
If you are a lover of cross-cultural music, stay tuned to my emails and I will try to deliver new and meaningful music and videos in this and other “world music” genres. Again, buying our Cds or mp3s and becoming a “fan” if the music moves you would be some of the coolest ways to support this music… And of course I will inform you of live performances in your area.
I have just spent 5 weeks playing and recording devotional music for her charities at the ashram of Mata Amritanandamayi (Amma) and have been performing in Bangalore with Lehera …. A few more gigs before I leave in a month…a few more meetings with prominent , heavy local musicians…wow! …more compositions and lots of chai and scintillating curries!
Well, that’s all for now. Thanks for reading. If you have a minute leave a comment below about the music or anything else and do visit the website of my other band at www.tandava.com. Which I truly love but which has been somewhat dormant for a while …although Tandava does get it’s share of TV and radio play, specially on CBC.
Your feedback is always exciting to receive and it helps us present our music with more awareness of the listener.
May the New Year bless you with a peaceful heart ( I know…it’s almost February!)
Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu
(May all beings be Happy)
Stay Well,
Prashant

Yay! A long awaited update from Lehera! Looking forward to hearing the new tunes.
I have to mix the tunes and I should have them up in a couple of weeks as I just got back a week ago and ….I’ll give you a heads up of course,
